Our team has been a partnership of experts in workforce transformation and cross‑economy healthcare — a multidisciplinary group of clinicians, workforce consultants and planners whose sole focus has been helping the NHS and care sectors solve workforce issues.
Our work was funded for many years by Health Education England and Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. In recent years support was provided by Carados Ltd.
From October 2026, the following tools will be closed.
An operational‑level planning tool for modelling day‑to‑day staffing at team level, with skills profiling, waiting times and caseload analysis.
Our proprietary data processing, modelling and visualisation tool, used to model workforce at team, department, trust and cross‑economy level.
A bespoke option for large investment cases, adding a full financial component to model the cost impact of workforce change.
The WRaPT tool has not had the investment to keep up with changing modelling needs, so the AHCWP has set up the centre of excellence for workforce modelling to provide the free advice and tools you need to model your specific challenges. The Association of Health and Care Workforce Planning (AHCWP.com) was created in 2024 to provide networking and resources for workforce planners in the sector. The AHCWP provides free guides, training and podcasts. There are also networking events so you can share knowledge and experiences with other health and care workforce planners. Members can access free Excel‑based workforce models, and a new online tool is under development.
Membership is free and you can join the association here:
